History of LEONI Slovakia, spol. s r.o.
The foundations of LEONI date back to the 16th century, when its founder, Antoni Fournier from Lyon, France, sought to meet women’s needs by crafting beautiful pieces of jewelry. Cable production began in 1917, while the manufacturing of cable harnesses did not start until 1950. LEONI began its rapid expansion in 1999, following the establishment of the LEONI holding structure. Since then, LEONI Slovakia has been an integral part of the company’s global footprint. LEONI has been operating in Slovakia since 1992, when the first production plant was established in Nová Dubnica. Additional plants followed in Trenčín (1993), Stará Turá (2000), and Ilava (2004). In 2013, these previously independent entities were unified under the name LEONI Slovakia, s.r.o., while continuing to operate as self-contained branches. On January 1, 2022, two independent companies were founded in Slovakia, including LEONI Slovakia, s.r.o.
